“Take care of your soul space. Tend to your dream seeds, but don't get bogged down in the how-to-do-it gardening manual. Don't get overwhelmed with everyone else's dreams come true story. Live your own.”
~ Cassandra Key
“During the course of daily life, we are faced with a series of choices. Each choice comes with its own consequences, some lasting longer than others. Choices made out of fear or desperation will lead you to reacting from your head rather than leading with your heart.”
~ Jaden Sterling
“You can be comfortable or you can be courageous, but you have to choose because they are mutually exclusive .. There is nothing comfortable in courage. Vulnerability is not about winning or losing it is about showing up and letting ourselves be seen … it is the birthplace of creativity and innovation.”
~ Brene Brown
“Give from your saucer, not from your cup. It sounds easy enough, but do you actually allow yourself to be filled up to overflowing so you can give from your overflow? Or do you just keep the bare minimum in reserve and even dip into that whenever someone else needs something from you?”
~ Shakaya Leone
“Life created You just as you are. There’s a seed imprinted within you. Each soul is a seed and everything sprouts, grows, blossoms, and sometimes fruits as it grows from within that seed. The sun showers it with light, the rain plumps it up with moisture, and the Earth feeds it with nutrients and love so it can be what it is created to be – a celebration of Life in its own unique imprint. Life is THAT creative. Yes, it is. And, you are that Life so You, too, are THAT creative. Just as you are an expression of this erotic, passionate Life, whatever you give creative birth to is an erotic, passionate, explosion of this very same Life.”
~ Julie Daley
As the dog days of summer come to an end in the Western hemisphere, now is the perfect time to get in that last minute vacation or staycation before shipping the kids off to school. If you’re suffering with the heat of summer (100 degrees days and poor air quality due to forest fires out here), plan a trip to the beach or find some water to play in to stay cool.
As Summer turns to Fall, this is also a perfect time to release any pent up emotions or unfinished business from earlier in the year. Perform this quick ceremony near a body of water and enter Fall knowing you’ve released what no longer serves you.
End of Summer Release Ceremony
Pen or pencil
Match or lighter
Write down any leftover emotions or experience that you still need to let go of. It could be someone you need to forgive, releasing old hurts, or getting closure on a project. Write it all down. There’s no right or wrong here, just let whatever comes out be. When you are finished writing, say the following prayer (or something similar – let the prayer come to you as well):
Goddess [insert name of any Goddess you feel drawn to or leave it generic], in the Heat of the Summer,
I release old hurts, old wounds
I seek forgiveness for myself and for those I feel have wronged me
I let it all go into Your loving arms
And trust that you will give me Peace.
Burn the paper and let the ashes float downstream [if you’re not near water, then just flush them down the toilet]
To the water I give my hurt, my anger, my resentment
To the water I give my pain
Transform my hurts into my greatest gifts
My pain into my lessons
In this I pray.
Thank you Goddess!
Now get out there and play! Release that stored up energy you just generated in a fun, creative way. Dance, sing, draw, paint, enjoy life. If you’re not sure where to start, Call on Sarasvati – a water Goddess and Goddess of Creativity for inspiration.
Enjoy what’s left of your Summer!
Goddess of Creativity
“Get out and play! You’ve been inside for too long. Let your spirit soar.”
Traits Sarasvati Embodies:
- Art in all its forms
- Divine mother
- Inner wisdom
How to call on Sarasvati:
Sarasvati the Goddess rose from the sacred river bearing her name. As water is her element and also the element of emotion, Sarasvati can be called upon whenever your emotions need to be expressed in a positive way. Let Her help you draw, paint, write, sing, or dance your feelings into existence for all to see, for leaving them bottled up inside only brings us harm.
Prayer to Sarasvati:
Sarasvati, Light of Creativity
I call upon you now.
As the river flows,
So too let my feelings flow.
Channel my emotions into your light
And let them shine onto the world with your Grace.[Grab your pencil, crayon, music, guitar, etc. and see what comes out. Remember to thank Sarasvati when you’re done.]
Tribute to Sarasvati:
As Sarasvati came from the water, find a body of water – preferably flowing water – and say a prayer of thanks to Sarasvati. Her symbols are the swan and the lotus. If there are swans nearby, feed them some bread in Her name. If there are lotus petals nearby, toss some into the water as you pray.

What does being an Everyday Goddess mean to you?
Being an everyday goddess means being committed to the walking the path of authenticity, self-empowerment and inner healing. It means trusting and following the calling of my soul and doing the inner work to heal and release the layers of self-doubt, shame and old stories that keep me from embracing the truth of who I am. It is understanding that as I step into my power and truth as an everyday goddess I empower other women in owning their truth. Being an everyday goddess means staying connected to my heart center, honoring my truth and being of service to the world with my unique gifts and presence. It means holding a space of love and compassion for others on the path.
At what age did you awaken to the presence of the Divine Feminine and would you describe it as a sudden awakening or a gentle unfolding?
Looking back over the last twenty-two years of my spiritual and self-empowerment journey I would have to describe it as a gentle unfolding. Each step I took along my sacred path allowed me to heal and release layers of old wounds that had kept me separate from my truth. As I continued along the path of healing, which continues today, I have been able to own my truth, tune into and trust my inner guidance and live my life from the inside-out. Over the last three years I have felt an accelerated energy guiding and supporting me in deep inner work and has also led to meeting, connecting with and supporting other women sharing this sacred journey. At 51 I feel more at peace in my life and in myself as a woman than I ever have and that’s my deepest desire for all women.
What roles in your life had to transform in order for you to live authentically?
The most important role that I’ve had to transform in my life has been my relationship with myself – on a physical, spiritual and emotional level. Through that transformation I came to the understanding that until I truly loved, honored, and nourished myself as a woman I was not able to accept the same from others. As I healed, my relationships and roles were magically transformed or released as needed and each one became an energetic match aligned with my heart and truth. I’ve seen this happen time and time again in women’s lives as they healed and learned to embrace their truth their outer relationships began to support the new energy they radiated. It begins within!
What have been some of the greatest inner gifts you’ve experienced since stepping into your feminine power?
The greatest inner gifts that I’ve experienced have been the lightness of spirit and deep joy that I feel in my heart. No matter what outside circumstances are whirling around me I have found a sacred place within that grounds me in peace and love that I can turn to at any time. My intuition and connection to Source have never been stronger and I have found that in honoring each of those connections on a daily basis, I am able to live my life from a place of inner strength and peace.
Can you share some of your favorite sacred feminine rituals?
One of my favorite rituals is lighting my favorite incense, listening to Karen Drucker’s beautiful song/mantra “I am so Blessed” and sitting quietly allowing myself to bask in the love. As an avid reader, another ritual that feeds my soul is to begin and end each day reading from an inspirational book – whether it’s sacred text or the newest book from a favorite spiritual or personal development author I find nourishment in their words.
Is there a particular Goddess that you are intimately drawn to and why?
Not at this time, but there are two Goddess cards (from my Doreen Virtue deck) that I have consistently pulled for the last three years – Dana: Manifestation, Alchemy and Divine Magic and Hathor: Allowing yourself to receive and nurturing yourself. I’ve been feeling led to delve deeper into the meaning and energy of these Goddess energies and look forward to the journey.
Is there a personal message that you would like to share with women?
My message to every woman is this… YOU have access to all that you need to heal, transform, and thrive in your life. The inner peace, self-love, and validation you are searching for cannot be found ‘outside’ of yourself (believe me, I’ve tried) the key is within you – always has been. Begin by giving yourself permission to honor your truth and the calling of your soul. Forgive yourself for your past, and give yourself permission to receive all the love, abundance and radiant health that you deserve. When you begin the journey inward you too will awaken the goddess within.
