Blossoming Into My Passion and Purpose

blossom into yourselfThis past Friday, I had the opportunity to be a guest on a new webinar series called Blossoming Women. You can watch the replay here. On the show, I was talking about how I came to find my own higher purpose, and how I know that part of that purpose is shining my light to be a beacon for other women.

The Dalai Lama once said the world will be saved by the Western woman. I think what he meant is that the more women who awaken to themselves and their true purpose, the better the world will be. We women are the nurturers, bringers of light. And if we don't believe in ourselves, no one else will. So it's important that you believe in you. That you love you.

I didn't always understand this. And even after I understood it, it was still difficult for me to practice what I preached sometimes.

This past summer was a perfect example of this. Having exhausted myself by working 50 to 60 hours a week during the academic term in the Spring, I was so burned out by Summer, that I didn't dedicate myself to my business like I usually do. Instead, I took much of the summer off, just doing the bare minimum to keep things flowing for the business.

I knew it was important for me to do this mini personal retreat even though I didn't know why at the time. I just knew that something big was coming, unfolding for me. As July turned into August, I began to get glimpses of what it was going to be. And I'm pretty darn excited about it.

I'm being called, like many women are right now, to finally and firmly, once and for all, own the woman I am meant to be. To step into my power and walk the path I am meant to walk. To speak my truth like the Goddess and Priestess I am being called to become.

It means not holding back, not hiding in the shadows for fear of offending someone. It means saying what you need to say, not to be mean, but to respect everyone involved, including yourself. It means doing what is best for you and honors you. It means taking exquisite care of you because you can't serve from an empty cup. It means listening to your inner voice of wisdom and acting from that place, trusting yourself and your intuition.

While all of that may seem challenging for you right now, know that over time you too can learn to walk in your path and fully love and trust yourself. September, the month when Summer turns to Fall in the Northern Hemisphere, is powerful month of letting go so that opportunities that have been waiting to open for you can finally be shown to you. If I've learned nothing else over the past few years, it's that you've got to let go of the baggage you’re lugging with you before you can step into that new doorway. Sometimes it's scary, stepping into the unknown. But know that if in your heart it feels right, then it is right.

And that's what happened for me this Summer. I got quiet; I listened to my heart, my inner voice of wisdom. And it told me I need to start doing things differently. That I needed to connect in with myself more and start leading from my heart. That I needed to listen to my Soul's calling, trust in myself more, and move from that place.

So I did. It wasn't always comfortable; it still isn't. But I have a deep sense of knowing and trust that everything is unfolding for me exactly as it should.

I was led to do three things this Fall. The first, in case you missed it, was the Sticky Note Challenge. The second is going to be a free 7-day Love Your Body, Nourish Your Temple challenge I will be launching the last week in September. I will also be unfolding a new group coaching program in October and one in Spring 2017.

As a Virgo, this waiting patiently and allowing the process to unfold has been frustrating at times. But I am so excited to see what comes of all of this and what is going to be in store for me next.

I'd love to hear in the comments below.
