Everyday GODDESS: Laura Clark

lpcLaura’s passion is teaching a unique blend of spiritual awakening tools that create breakthroughs that allow women to achieve their goals and aspirations. These tools allow chaotic chatter in and around them to be silenced, calm emotions and ground self in their own inner strength. Through her work, Laura shows that it is not only possible to see one’s own brilliance but how one can truly live in-joy at all times.

What does being an Everyday Goddess mean to you?

An Everyday Goddess lives in-joy. By having the ability to quiet down the gremlins in her head (and she knows they are there) and soothing her emotions, she is able to hear the whispers of her soul. To live fully in-joy, she embraces her inner wisdom and allows her soul to guide her toward her best self.

The Everyday Goddess acknowledges her weaknesses for in that owning of them she is better able to step forward in her own brilliance!  She, unapologetically, strives to live in that space of brilliance and the joy it brings at all times.

By embracing all that she is, the Everyday Goddess is loyal and kind, compassionate and strong and sheds love and light into the world in her own unique way.

At what age did you awaken to the presence of the Divine Feminine and would you describe it as a sudden awakening or a gentle unfolding?

For me, I began to understand the Divine Feminine when I was 33 and it only took a breath. I was living in a constant state of depression and had started with a new counselor. He had me lie down on the floor and put a book on my abdomen and asked me to breathe.. The book on my abdomen did not even move. My breath was short and shallow. I discovered then and there how I was not allowing myself to breathe at all – physically and spiritually. Of  course, it took time and effort to go from that woman to an awakening one (I say awakening because I know there are new and beautiful unfoldings at every moment!)

What roles in your life had to transform in order for you to live authentically?

We spend so much time growing up having beliefs placed UPON us. We are told what we should do, could do but mostly what we should not do and are not capable of doing. Told by our families, our communities, the media. For me, I had to leave behind the ‘white picket fence’ syndrome that I had adopted. That I would go to college, work a few years, get married, have a few children and live happily ever after.  I learned that this ‘movie’ would not hand me the happily ever after, but rather, I had to become responsible for my OWN JOY.  And in stepping into this role, living becomes a gift to embrace in each and every moment.

What have been some of the greatest inner gifts you’ve experienced since stepping into your feminine power?

The biggest inner gift that I have received is knowing that I don’t have to be perfect. When I released the attachment that that held for me, I was able to begin to embrace living in-joy.  Life became so much easier. I now embrace mis-takes as learning opportunities. By living from this place, I am able to stop being someone who I clearly am not and it allows me to shine light on all the pieces of me that are brilliant.

By living in this space of brilliance and joy another gift I fully embrace is that of allowing others to do so too. Women who share their unique brilliance with the world give rise to everyone else sharing their own brilliance and love and joy are spread exponentially this way.

Can you share some of your favorite sacred feminine rituals?

I have so many sacred rituals.  I have two favorite one’s that I am embracing right now.

The first is in the morning asking unapologetically for wealth to come into my life so I can continue to spread my message of living in-joy. I do this by turning on the back left hand burner of my stove. This burner represents the wealth area of your life. By bringing the heat from the stove into my hands and embracing the spirit of wealth with an affirmation, the universe is rearranging itself for this to be so right now.

The second is just before I go to bed. I have a blessing bowl on my nightstand and, on slips of paper, I write everything that I received as blessings in my day (even my mis-takes!) Feeling blessed has a vibration that is even higher than gratitude. So, yes, counting my blessings at night is a must to keep my vibration elevated during my slumber.

Is there a particular Goddess that you are intimately drawn to and why?

I have a particular fondness for Hecate~ she serves such a variety of roles such as the goddess of crossroads and entrance-ways. Our souls are our compass and help navigate our actions and steps. Calling upon Hecate allows me to make choices wisely when at crossroads.  Too, She is associated with the moon and I relate to the water element which so closely correlates to this.

And, of course, one cannot forget her close association in art and literature with dogs. Life is so much better with wags and slobbers of my own four footers!

Is there a personal message that you would like to share with women?

Your soul knows the truth. When you take the time to access act upon its inner wisdom, you can live a life that leads to joy at all times.
