The Power of Intention

By | Goddess Wisdom, Wisdom Blog | 4 Comments

As we close one year and move into the next, it’s important to set intentions for the year ahead. Not resolutions, per se, but goals for how you want to be this year. Along with that, I think it’s important to set a theme for the year: something to remind you of your intentions for the year ahead. My intention for 2016? To be discerning in how I spend my time, energy, and money.

What does that mean? No more giving from my cup. No more spending money on things I want but don’t need until my debt is paid off. No more going along with what others want to please them. No more wasting my time and energy on people who drain me.

2016 will be the year I check in with me on a regular basis. The year I prioritize my self-care. The year I become financially savvy.

My Intentions for 2016

  • Give from my overflow
  • Act from a place of love in all things, beginning with love for myself
  • Learn to receive
  • Make financially savvy decisions
  • Give myself permission to be me and know that, in every moment, I am enough
  • Take evenings and weekends off
  • Have more fun
  • Go on an actual vacation, or two or three…
  • Listen to my intuition
  • Check in with myself regularly (at least once a day) to see how I am feeling and what I need
  • Be honest with myself
  • Let down my heart wall and let more love in
  • Be the best version of me I can be
  • Check in with my angels and guides on a daily basis to make sure I am living to my fullest potential
  • Prioritize the things that are important to me rather than allowing others to set my priorities
  • Set boundaries to keep myself healthy and sane
  • Spend more time in nature
  • Learn a new skill
  • Challenge myself a little bit every day – comfort zones are highly overrated
  • Be true to myself in thought, word, and deed – time to speak my truth and walk in my power
  • Love my body and myself
  • Trust my intuition
  • Take my company to new heights
  • Allow financial abundance to flow in like water, easily and effortlessly
  • Do daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly check ins with my Leonie Dawson Life and Business Planner workbooks
  • Allow myself to fall in love – with myself, my life, my man
  • Give full measure – time to get out or go all in for the things that really matter to me
  • Go back to daily meditation, morning and night
  • Move my body in ways that I love every day – whether that be running, yoga, lifting weights, belly dance, hiking in the foothills with my dogs, or a new way of movement that I have yet to find
  • Explore life and my sexuality
  • Heal, process, and grow – life is nothing but a lesson, an evolution to becoming a better version of me
  • Laugh more and enjoy life
  • Be more grateful for all that I have, all that I am, and all that I am becoming

(Be sure to phrase these positively and read them often.)
